Genmaicha

Genmai (brown rice), cha (tea). This name is given to the popular Japanese blend which is also commonly refered to as 'popcorn tea'. This is not so much due to the taste, but the sound of popping rice grains during roasting. The Japanese consider this drink helpful in calming an upset stomach.

Japanese style green tea and roasted brown rice

Notes

vegetal, light yellow, nutty, roasted rice.

Instructions

Add 1.5 Tsp to every 200ml water. Infuse at 80 degrees for 2-3 minutes. Ideal drinking temp is 65 degrees. Best without milk or sugar.
